Licensing and Activation

Microsoft offers Visio Professional 2024 as a one-time purchase licensed for one user on one Windows PC. It is a standalone desktop application and does not require an ongoing Visio Plan subscription.

Retail editions use a Microsoft account for product redemption, installation, and activation. Commercial volume-licensed editions may use different deployment and activation methods. Reinstallation and transfer rights depend on the licence supplied.

Visio Professional 2024 provides a fixed software release with applicable security and quality updates during its support lifecycle. Microsoft support is scheduled through October 10, 2029. Future major Visio versions and subscription-based Visio services are not automatically included.
